Deanna was making the journey by car from California to Portland and stopped for the night in Medford. While there, she looked up Realtors online and reached out to me. She indicated she wanted to buy a home in Portland while on her visit and would be in town for a few days, beginning tomorrow. I had one evening to plan out places for her to see and very little to go on as to her tastes. She said that she liked old homes with porches and a place for her sister to stay while in town. It was also very important to be walkable to restaurants, shopping and entertainment. That describes a lot of areas in the Inner East Side of Portland and a buyer after my own heart. Each neighborhood in Portland has a distinct vibe and I didn’t yet know her style. Fortunately, her budget allowed for some of the most sought after walkable neighborhoods east of the Willamette. I began my search on placePortland.com and was able to pick out what I hoped would be a winner. To allow her to get a feel for the area, I opted to show her Sellwood, Ladd’s Addition, Mt Tabor, Laurelhurst Park, Irvington and Alberta Arts. On the tour we looked at only 4 homes. She fell in love with a 1915 Craftsman, with a huge front porch and an ADU just right for out-of-town visits from her sister.
Those ladies in the picture aren’t Deanna and her sister but they look like they are having a mighty swell time. Just like I know Deanna will, on the porch with her sister, steps from all that Alberta St has to offer. Turns out she liked a more funky vibe and I get it.
I love helping people find their place. If you are looking to find yours, whether buying or selling, give me call.
