When Beth and Sam decided to upgrade their tiny house trailer and move their family of five into a slightly larger (non-mobile) single family home, the Place Portland team was ready and willing to help!
The adorably blonde family had recently moved to Portland and were lured by the charms of the North part of the city. They loved the cozy feeling of their tiny house, and wanted to keep that close-knit atmosphere, while still giving themselves and their three daughters a bit of personal space. They particularly wanted an attic or basement that could be finished to add square footage and value to their new home.
Together, we looked at houses of all shapes, sizes, conditions, and situations, almost all under 1,000 square feet. The competition for this type of home, at this price point was fierce. After losing a bidding war on one house, and with cold temperatures looming, Sam and Beth were ready to get competitive on the next one.
It wasn’t long before we found a house that was even more perfect than the one we lost. 1056 square feet spread across two levels – this one had living space AND an unfinished attic that could be converted into a reading nook for the girls! After some tough negotiations and close calls, we locked it up for a fantastic deal. And the family moved in just in time to celebrate Christmas in their new home!
