My Georgia roots run deep and there I learned sticktoittiveness and how to Hang In There Like Hair In A Biscuit. I haven’t read Mr Bradford’s book, nor do I intend to, but I’m pretty familiar with its concepts. Growing up in the South will teach you funny words. It is also hard to escape the valuable teaching of sticking with something till the job is done.
My client will be moving in to her new home this weekend in NE Portland and I am very happy for her. She was a pleasure to work with and get to know throughout a rather long home buying process. Over the course of 2 years, I have written 3 different offers for her that were all accepted by the sellers (this is no small feat in Portland Real Estate) and then later terminated by her for varying reasons. I continued to maintain contact as I wanted to make every effort to help secure the home she ultimately wanted.
This particular home was in move in ready condition and in a great area of NE Portland. I knew that it would be a competitive situation and advised my client what I thought would make a winning offer. There were 7 total offers and our offer was selected despite not being the highest price. I was able to negotiate the price down even further for additional repairs and the agreed upon sales price was $13,500 less than the highest offer. Not too shabby.
I will be handing her the keys on Friday to her new home God Willin’ and The Creek Don’t Rise.
