Greg’s Portland Dream Home

Greg, a young architectural draftsman and self-proclaimed “impulse shopper,” dreamed of purchasing a home for years. He worked hard, saved his money, and still didn’t qualify for enough to get the close-in location that he was set on. Most people would either compromise or give up, but not Greg! He put on his most charming smile and found a friend who was willing to invest in Greg’s Portland Dream Home.

With some extra capital and a new pre-approval letter in hand, we set out to fulfill his wish list. The requirements were simple enough – location, location, location! Oh, and a shop big enough to house Greg’s grandfather’s collection of woodworking tools.

Anyone that has any knowledge of the Portland housing market knows the competition out here is tough. So when I heard that one of my fellow Keller Williams agents had an unlisted house just off of Fremont street, with a big workshop, and below our target price point, I called Greg immediately. We were at the house that afternoon, and writing up the papers within a couple of hours.

Even pocket listings can attract multiple offers, but our seller was a kind woman who had loved her house for years, and didn’t want to see it fall into the hands of flippers. Greg’s personal letter resonated with her, and she happily accepted our slightly-over-asking offer.

After a quick and painless escrow, Greg is officially planning his house-warming party. I’m so happy for my newest friend and client. Welcome to the neighborhood, Greg!
